Hair and scalp sunscreen spray
SHELTON, Connecticut, July 29, 2022 – Edgewell Personal Care Company (NYSE:EPC) today issued a nationwide voluntary recall of three lots of Banana Boat Hair & Scalp Sun Spray SPF 30 at the consumer level, as listed in the table below. An internal review revealed that some samples of the product contained traces of benzene. Although benzene is not an ingredient in Banana Boat products, the review showed that unexpected levels of benzene came from the propellant that sprays the product out of the can.
It is important to note that no other lots of Hair & Scalp (before or after these lot codes) and no other Banana Boat products are affected by this recall and can continue to be used by consumers safely and as intended.
