Beauty tips to beat the festival blues and ward off troubled skin | Lifestyle Beauty

New Delhi: Festivals can inevitably lead to two situations: a perfectly pleasant and energetic day when you are at your best, or a tiring and sweaty day due to the heat and humidity. While it’s understandable that sweating is a perfectly natural human bodily function, heat and sweat can cause a few skin issues, like clogged pores, blackheads, acne, pimples, and rashes. However, there is no reason to despair if you can follow a few beauty tips that can ward off skin problems.

Before delving deeper into the subject, it should be noted that the golden principle of skin care is cleansing, toning and moisturizing, which cannot be taken away at any cost. Cleansing the skin is becoming more important, in order to get rid of sweat and oil deposits. A good CTM routine helps keep the skin hydrated and restore the skin’s normal acid-alkaline balance to prevent rash conditions like pimples and acne.

Beauty mogul Shahnaz Husain shares beauty tips to beat the festival blues:

Sunscreen is essential: Protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun’s UV rays by applying sunscreen, before going out in the sun, on your face and exposed areas of your body. Select a sunscreen or sunscreen with an SPF of at least 20 or 25. For sun-sensitive skin, apply a higher SPF of 40 or 60. If skin is dry, sunscreen should be applied, while that for normal to oily skin or combination skin, a sun gel is more suitable. Sunscreen should be applied about 20 minutes before sun exposure, to give it time to be absorbed by the skin. It must be reapplied if you are in the sun for more than one hour at a time. The effects of the sun increase near bodies of water and snow, as they reflect solar radiation. In the treatment of skin pigmentation, protecting the skin with sunscreens is an important aspect.

Opt for a light and matte makeup: Make-up, festivities, heat and perspiration require a careful choice of cosmetics. The heat can further stimulate the sebaceous and sweat glands, making the skin oily. So you should select oil-free matte products. Matte products do not contain mineral oil and other oils, makeup will not be greasy, especially during the day. Using matte products helps control the oiliness.

Rose water toner: Bursting with vitamins such as vitamins A, C, D, E, and B3, rose water is a wonderful ingredient for a skin toner. Rose water is suitable for all skin types and can protect the skin from heat and pollution, refresh the skin and add a natural glow. It has antioxidant properties, providing youthful looking skin and sealing in natural moisture.

Use a mattifier: The matifier is a magic product for people with oily skin. The primary objective of applying a mattifier is to reduce the production of sebum in order to prevent the skin from becoming oily and too shiny. The mattifier can be a lightweight powder, or a matte lotion, balm, or moisturizer. They should help absorb oil, reduce oiliness, shrink pores and minimize blemishes.

Don’t forget the primers for the eyes: To keep your makeup firm even around the eyes, wearing an eye primer can be a godsend. This is because eye primers make eye makeup last longer and also prevent creasing.

Spray the heat with a cooling mist: To keep your face looking smooth and shiny throughout the day, hydration is important. A refreshing mist does just that more effectively. A fine spray of mist can quench your skin’s thirst and restore balance, adding an attractive glow.

Put on chilled sheet masks: At the end of the long day of partying, be sure to give your full attention to your nighttime skincare routine. Take off your makeup at night. Starting with a chilled sheet mask will relax your face and hydrate it. Aloe Vera or Cucumber masks can be prepared at home and then stored in the refrigerator to cool before applying. You can also put an almond cream or a lip balm.
